Riding Natchez Trace this weekend

Post by ScooterTrash69 on Tue Apr 17, 2012 7:40 pm

My girl and I are riding Natchez Trace this weekend. We're heading out early Saturday morning
for an overnighter in a cabin somewhere in central Ms. This just came up, a little too close to
the Thunder Beach Rally but I'll squeez it in. We'll get plenty of pictures and some good video to
share. Hoping some of you have been there, and maybe can advise me of some good landmarks,
we might otherwise miss.

Just be sure you go the speed limit. 45mph I think. They have regular looking SUV cops all over the place.

Take your rain suit if you can, it's just water, I've been temped to bring soap too! slow down make sure you warn cars by taping your brakes now and then, point your headlight at them at intersections, scares them some too I think. Enjoy it while you can, you may never get the chance again. Have fun be safe, ride far and ride free! Best part you and your girl can get some away from the norm time!

I think we'll get a few miles Sunday but not into riding in the rain.
I need a flap on front fender, front tire throws all the water on me.
You're right though a bar of soap and you got a shower.

I get a spray from the front and back. Refreshing sometimes.

Well, we made it to the Trace Saturday around 3 pm. We rode about 180 miles up to Kosciusko for the night. We rode on into Frech Camp by noon
on Sunday and then it was time to turn around and head home. All together
we made 725 miles over the weekend. The wives think they've earned
their iron butt patches...LOL Weather was very cool on Saturday but fantastic on Sunday. We didn't hit a drop of rain. The Trace is Beautiful.
It's so clean, I didn't notice even a beer can on the trace for over 225
miles. We did see a lot of deer and other critters after dark. I know Im
going back when I have more time to make the whole trace into Nashville.
Got some pictures and video about to edit it all for posting.
